ABOUT BRITTNAY

Brittnay Therese Dawson is an American TV personality & entrepreneur, most widely recognized for her role on MTV’s Double Shot at Love and News Channel Nebraska.

As a photographer, journalist, filmmaker, producer, and designer—Brittnay is a passionate storyteller in all creative forms with over 20 years of media experience working as a one-woman production company.

Currently, Brittnay is the executive producer of Emerald Design Bar, director of the feature documentary “Behind the Boom,” and designer of a luxury swimwear collection to release Spring 2023.

Early Influence

Originally from a small town in the Midwest, Brittnay discovered a talent in her early years to “tell a heartfelt story from within” creating curiosity and deep connection to her audience. At age 16 she saved enough money to purchase her first video camera and began making short films with her friends, further developing her love for narrative storytelling.

The career-defining moment for Brittnay was at her high school baccalaureate where she presented to a full auditorium a personal essay based on her experience as a graduating young mother. Sharing her story evoked a powerful and emotional response from the audience, and received a standing ovation. It was in that moment she first recognized she had a gift to create impact through meaningful stories.

After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and studying communications, Brittnay launched her first creative business focusing on photography and journalism.

Photographer to Filmmaker

Brittnay has partnered with hundreds of clients, ranging from international brands to small startups. She built the backbone of her business through the art of editorial photography—learning how to manipulate light, offering unique perspectives, and capturing raw emotions in a human subject.

As a self-taught filmmaker who understands every element of video and audio production, Brittnay has developed a signature style of storytelling from her background in psychology and journalism, producing cinematic content that is emotion-driven and focused on humanizing brands. Brittnay’s skill set has been sought-after from various brands looking for creative consulting on their marketing initiatives.

Emerging Designer

Taking what she has learned from years of perfecting the art and science of storytelling for other brands, Brittnay will launch a new endeavor as an emerging designer for luxury swimwear. She enters the fashion market with a unique perspective to create custom designs for active women, and will lead the marketing initiative by placing video storytelling at the heart of the brand—and the women it will represent. Her first collection is set to launch in the Spring/Summer of 2023.
